As the music began and the wall of lights brightened, the first model strut to the beat in a monochromatic grey look. Layered 
knits and textured pieces were enhanced with subtle pops of sparkle attributes. It was evident that structured deconstruction was a cohesive theme of the show which was highly inspired by David Bowie. Structured coats and jackets were paired with handkerchief hems and asymmetric silhouettes.
Contrasting heavy coats and materials with draped fabrics of printed pinstripes and crisp winter whites left us dreaming of cool fall breezes. One of our favourite looks? A denim waist-tie jacket with colourful lurex sleeves styled over a simple white button up shirt. Motion was key for BCBGMAXAZRIA this season. Constant movement of the garments translated with ruffle accents and piling up sweaters and coats of faux fur creating mesmerizing perfection when models walked.
“We have an inspiration board in our design offices and we had so many pictures of David Bowie — and this was before he passed away,” said Lubov Azria, one half of the designing duo, in a backstage interview. “I think we loved the idea of performance and performer. We are all performing in some way or the other, and a performer … gives us hope. They inspire us to be better.”
