The 2015 VMA’s took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles Sunday night and we witnessed a series of events that you wouldn’t normally see on live television. Kanye West officially announced his run for presidency in 2020, Bieber wept tears after performing his new single “What Do You Mean”, Nicki Minaj called out Miley Cyrus on her recent comment of Minaj in an interview and then Minaj went on to make emends with recent fury with Taylor Swift by standing together on stage for a live performance of ‘Bad Blood’ showing that their fire has distinguished. The VMA’s wouldn’t be complete without the questionable red carpet fashions which are common in VMA history with artists enhancing their creativity for this star-studded event. Iconic looks from past VMA’s include Lil Kim’s purple one-sie, Brittney Spears wearing a live cobra, Lady Gaga in a meat dress and Gwen in a furry bra and blue hair.
Let’s just say this year, clothing was minimal on most and just like the Met Ball – “the naked dress” which has become a Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez favourite was seen on almost everyone, especially VMA host, Miley Cyrus. Versace has become more than a household name with Donatella’s recent adoration for sheer cut-outs and paneling in gowns, it made sense for Cyrus to wear a custom Versace number which was remiscent of a chandelier like-skirt that bared it all topped off with faux-dreadlocks. In second for the “naked dress” was FKA twigs also looking confident and stylish in Versace.

Among the attendance of the VMA’s were Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ crew including world renown celebrities and supermodels. Among the supermodels, Gigi Hadid showcased her natural beach-girl glow with a yellow plunge neckline gown and a simplistic nude beauty palette that made us dream of an eternal summer and Karlie Kloss stunned all in a sunset orange floor length Louis Vuitton dress and Giuseppe Zanotti sandals.
